   This was a great option. We purchased the beach shelter for a vacation at OCNJ. We have a 1 year old and a 4 year old. We were concerned with them getting too much sun. The kids loved it. They would play inside or take a nap. A great place to get out of the hot sun.

   It was sooo easy to set up and take down. We watch others on the beach, with 3 and 4 people trying to assemble a tent. It took one person a few seconds. A second person is handy if its windy. It handled the wind very well too, which I was worried about.

   A great investment!!! I highly recommend it.

   This tent worked great for our 2 week old daughter and 6 month old niece at the outer banks. We had mild winds and it held up well. Super easy to set up and take down…Takes literally 2 minutes!!!

   Just got back from a two week vacation at the Outer Banks with two of these umbrellas and they held up without a hitch. We purchased them together with the sand anchors and we watched as other people’s umbrellas went rolling across the beach into other sunbathers – and turning inside out. This was not the case with our Rio 6-ft umbrellas. I noticed that alot of people poke the poles into the sand without much effort and are then surprised when their umbrella flies away. The key – whether you use a sand anchor or not – is to dig into the sand with your hands and clear away the dry sand. Then when you get to the harder wet sand, that is when you start setting the pole. Once it is firmly in place, cover up the hole and umbrella stake with the dry sand and make a mound. In any event, we highly recommend this umbrella for the beach. It worked great on breezy days. No umbrella will work in gale force winds – c’mon people!

   This umbrella is perfect, exactly what I wanted. It’s easy to carry and store because it comes apart in two pieces.

   This is the review for the “RIO Groundbreaker Universal 7-ft Beach Umbrella with Wind Vent, Tilt, and SPF 125 Sun Protection – Blue Striped”, bought 4 weeks ago from this vendor Harborside Color, but no longer listed on Amazon…

   Be warned, this umbrella literally started falling apart after it’s first use. The seams that hold the umbrella fabric to the pole at the very top of the canopy began to fray after the first use. This resulted in the canopy no longer being attached to the pole. After it’s first use, the umbrella had a hole in the gustbuster(vent), and was throwing donut shaped shadows.

   Even with a hole in the vent, the gust-buster feature was not very functional, as the umbrella would be blown inside out easily with a small gust.

   I can hear you asking “Why don’t you just tip the umbrella slightly into the wind…?” Seems like a easy solution… Unfortunately, the ribs aren’t strong enough to support the canopy in a slight breeze either. They collapse upon themselves, and finally snap, which results in fiberglass splinters tearing through the canopy.

   All of this occurred on a mild strip of beach in NJ, btw. Not the top of Mount Washington.

   Save your money and buy another brand. My Rio beach chairs are already splitting at the seams, but they at least lasted one full season.

   I’ll never buy this brand again.

   I had bought this to for our outer banks vacation and on an average breezy day at the beach it turned inside out and the the thing broke and the fabric ripped, we used it broken for the next 3 days and then it ended up in the trash.
