Just rented this movie and really enjoyed it. It's a fun little romantic comedy that will certainly get you in the holiday spirit. Jack Black is funny, as always. He also shows a more sensitive side, that you don't always see in his movies. That was a highlight for me.

The story, in general, is one we can all relate to. Most of us are working way too hard and bypassing the little things that make life so great. That was my big takeaway from this. It was a nice (and sometimes hilarious) reminder to stop and smell the roses.

I have moved this movie to the top of my all-time favorites list. Kate Winslett was superb, but so were all the principal characters. The chemistry between Eli Wallach and Kate was fantastic. Any time I’m feeling down this movie makes me happy and when I’m not down I still love it! Yes, it’s a chick flick, but in my opinion Nancy Meyers is a great writer/director, who allowed Jack Black to improvise with excellent results. My significant other has watched it with me at least 5 times, so it’s a chick flick that guys enjoy too!

I love the movie. It’s funny and just a really good movie. I’m very happy I got this movie. Also I got it for pretty cheap from Amazon. This movie will have you laughing, crying, and just leave you feeling good. I think everyone should watch this movie

For a long time, I refused to see this movie because I just couldn’t imagine Queen Latifah paired with LL Cool J and I thought it might be super cheesy. Surprise, surprise though, it was actually really good! LL Cool J was VERY believable (I didn’t expect his acting skills were that good) and Queen Latifah, of course, was wonderful. The story though is also really good. I liked that this was a movie about self-discovery and really enjoying life for what it is. Definitely recommended for anyone in the mood for a sweet, inspiring flick.

The Last Holiday is a great movie with not only an excellent message regarding how a person lives and the choices one makes,it also has humor that is “clean.” There are several important life lessons in this movie and it has become one of my favorite movies along with “the Bucket List” and “UP.”

This movie’s social commentary is relevant today as much as it was when it was made. It’s always a pleasure to watch the acting of Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn and they don’t disappoint in this movie

Grant and Hepburn sparkle in this "screwball comedy" which is definitely worth seeing but which does not reach the heights the same two would scale in "The Philadelphia Story." Grant is a successfgul young broker who has made his own fortune through charm and hard work but who yearns to get away and discover who he really is. On a skiing trip, he meets Julia, a fabulously wealthy heiress. The two persuade each other they are in love -- but of course it is the elder sister played by Hepburn who is Grant's real match.

Julia's family inhabit a mansion worthy of J.P Morgan. The family is headed by a tyrannical old banker. The son is a drunk. Mother is dead. One wouldn't think this movie was made in 1938. The Great Depression is nowhere mentioned; neither is the swiftly gathering storm in Europe (except in one comment made by a guest at Grant's engagement party.)

The dialogue, from a stage play, is a bit wordy and old-fashioned. oddly, the best moment in this movie comes in a piece of physical comedy when Hepburn climbs on Grant's shoulders and does a graceful dive, ending in the two of them somersaulting across the floor.

Well it all ends as it should and they sail off to France (which will soon be occupied by the Nazis). It's all harmless fun and escapism. Very good but not great.
